Gharieni Convenes Scientific Advisory Board

In a move that takes its Verified Wellness to the next level, Gharieni Group is convening a Scientific Advisory Board to provide an objective, external perspective on the studies the company carries out on its wellness technologies. One of the leading international manufacturers of premium-quality Mind/Body Wellness technologies, spa tables, treatment beds and equipment for resort spas, wellness centers, aesthetic practices and medical offices, Gharieni Group has taken its wellness technologies to the next level, conducting scientific research into the efficacy of its products.
Joining the Scientific Advisory Board are Sergio Pecorelli, M.D., Ph.D, a renowned European Public Health figure who specializes in a life-span approach to prevention, and Professor Christophe Hausswirth, Ph.D., a respected expert in physiology and performance. Together, the two founding members of the Board bring a broad breadth of expertise from the research, academic and clinical environments of science and medicine.

Dr Pecorelli is past Chairman of the Italian Food and Drug Administration and National Committee for Cancer Prevention, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Italian National Institutes of Health, and President of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society. He has been awarded the Gold Medal for Public Health Services by the President of the Republic of Italy, the August and Marie Krogh Medal from the Kingdom of Denmark for his achievements in Medicine, the “Gold Leonardo,” the highest honorary recognition by the Italian Federation of Sports Medicine, and the prestigious IGCS Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Gynecologic Cancer Society. He is an Honorary Member of the American College of Surgeons and of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr Hausswirth has been the senior physiologist at l’Institut National du Sport, de l’Expertise et de la Performance (National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance, or INSEP) in France since 1995, and is an associate professor and leader in recovery and nutrition guidelines in the research department. In 1996, he earned his PhD in biomechanics and physiology of human movement at the University of Orsay, France. In 2000, he earned his diploma in supervising research dealing with the energy cost of locomotion in long-duration sport events. He also serves on the scientific board of the International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance.

Alina M. Hernandez, award-winning wellness concept creator, and Gharieni Strategic Advisory Board member, will serve as Secretary of the Board, and will provide coordination between the Board and Gharieni, bringing the Board’s findings into protocols and programming for Gharieni Wellness Technologies.
The formation of the Scientific Advisory Board is the next step in Gharieni’s continuing effort to work with evidence in its Research and Development, as well as in the application and practical use of its products in the spa and wellness space. Gharieni clients will benefit from the knowledge that claims made by Gharieni concerning benefits of its mind/body wellness technologies are backed by science and are reviewed by these experts, assuring quality authentication.

“I am very happy to have Dr. Pecorelli and Professor Hauswirth working with us,” says Sammy Gharieni, founder of Gharieni. “They represent a perfect mix of cutting-edge academics and clinical science, in order to provide us with the best advice for our continued commitment to innovation and excellence. Gharieni is always looking to improve and ensure quality in everything we do, and this represents a quality assurance to our clients – and their customers – that the claims that we make are backed by evidence and stand the test of scientific rigor and facts.”
